folk articles.

How it started ...

KRIS KREATIONS started when ANEIL,
a Chemical Engineer found creating INDIAN HANDICRAFTS
& FOLK CRAFTS
more INTERESTING than manufacturing chemicals.
While looking for unique ethnic handmade folk crafts, a chance to travel to the interiors of INDIA,
meeting the craftsmen, creating ethnic handmade folk articles of unique
designs, brought him and his family a lot of happiness and satisfaction.
The happiness increases manifold when we see before our
own eyes the changing fortunes of the very artisans
who work with us and make these articles.

Recognition came in the form  of the
first export order for Indian handicrafts
in 1990. This is how 'KRIS (KRIS-HNA, the creator)
KREATIONS' started. Since then the work is steadily growing
and the whole family is involved in making of handcrafted ethnic folk items.

 How we work ...

We buy directly from folk craft producing families in villages of India. We work with small hut family workshops who have been making the same sort of folk crafts and handicrafts for generations. We give them our designs based on the combined creation of the importer/buyer and us.

To support artisans Kris works with them closely, providing  them support in terms of design help, finance, raw material, etc. At the same time Kris treats its artisans fairly, paying them a just & fair price and providing them ample time to complete their work. In return Kris insists that they do not employ child labor, treat women artisans fairly, use biodegradable/recyclable raw material and are transparent in their dealings. Kris Kreations believes in ethical business. Within its groups of artisans Kris family is socially responsive, sensitive to their needs.

Because we keep our overheads low, and work on low margins, we feel,
we offer very reasonable prices to our customers. Our goal is to create
long standing relationship with our customer based on trust, honesty and
hard work. KRIS KREATIONS has used its ingenuity to give Indian handicrafts
& folk craft
a new dimension by combining utility with skilled artistry. These
handicrafts created with personal involvement, occupy a special place
and possess a timeless charm.

The problems we face ...

Man playing snake charmer - Kris Kreations makes and supplies Indian musical instruments. Click to see our musical instruments.
Although we try our best to supply the order at the promised time,
sometimes there are occasional delays like on rainy days
in India pottery is delayed as it cannot dry prior to
firing. Same is the case with Incense. Please remember
everything is hand-made. There can be considerable
variation in size, decoration and colour at times.

We, the 'KRIS' family try giving the ethnic
touch, linking faraway people
with our 'Kreations'.
